Truth?

We have been talking a lot in class recently about truth in our culture, discussing it with the common definition of truth, being "fact" or "actuality". Sure, you can declare something as true or false, but recently I discovered another context for truth.

This summer, I went to a camp in which the theme was "Truth". The intention of this event was to find our Truth. Truth was used differently here though. To find our Truth was to discover who we are, what defines us; to strip away all superficial layers. Truth was our meaning.

Granted, this was a church camp, but do you think that truth is really something we try to find within ourselves? Is it possible to discover your truth? Do you think you already have?

Those are difficult questions to answer. What exactly is our truth? that can have different meaning to the individual. The same is true when we are discussing cultural truths, it is based on oppinion. We can discuss and throw out our ideas but that doesn't make them true or right.
