It seems like our society is fascinated with culture, and we create culture that makes fun of culture. Meaning, we have shows like Saturday Night Live and The Flight of the Concords, which parody many things.
Saturday Night Live has been known to parody...everything. From News and Sports shows to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. And The Flight of the Concords has parodies of David Bowie, New Zeland culture and Australian culture, and many other things.
Why do we love shows like these? Is it just that we like making fun of our own culture and/or other peoples' cultures? What do you think our society's general sense of humor is these days?
