False 911 Calls

Police said a woman made two false calls to 911 from an out-of-service cell phone - and told investigators she did it because she was bored. They booked a 20-year-old woman on Monday with false report of a fire and false report of a crime. They also booked her on two outstanding warrants for violating probation.

Police Chief Freddy Drennan said the two calls gave different addresses in the same area. Police answered a burglary call and police and firefighters answered the fire call.

Officers questioned a woman in a nearby yard. Police said she denied making the calls at first, then admitted making them out of boredom.

Then last week I heard the local channel 4 news that a woman called 911 because Mcdonalds was out of Chicken McNuggets.

What is with these people? Do they not realize that they a tying up the lines when a real emergency might be happening? I wish they could charge them with something!
Also the people who will not pull over for the Police, Fire Engines or Ambulances.

People like that really don't think of others, so they don't think there doing anything wrong. I agree there should be something that they can charge them with. People who won't pull over upset me also, but what is even better then not pulling over is people fliping me off and honking at me like i have done somehting wrong when i do pull over.

Oh Margaret, I hate that too! Or people who flip you off as you slow down for a school zone! They make me so angry, anyways, people just are too busy too think , I guess.

People tend to be very self centered. When they get mad all they can think about is righting how they've been wronged (at the expense of everyone else). I think it just how ignorant some people can be, too think that the police will do anything because McDonalds is out of chicken nuggets.
I also agree that there should be a fine attached to those kinds of calls, and there usually is. It is illegal to call in a false report, at least in the city of Spokane.

False 911 calls are mostly made by teenagers who are just trying to be funny and probably don't understand the seriousness of what they are doing. I do not think that this is right but it also should not be punishable to certain measures. Now, if an adult does something like this, like the chicken nugget woman, then yes she should be punished. However there are many veariables that would have to be taken into account and would be fully based on oppinions of the people involved to be able to interpret the severity of the punishment. So, really it seems like a very difficult idea to follow up on.
